Our students want to make a difference in the lives of community members who are in need and they always manage to do that in the most proactive way.
Since unfortunate circumstances are taking place in the world right now, Allison Academy decided to give back to the community and make an effort to help everyone who is in need. This week our school presented the Toiletry Drive, in order to collect new and clean hygiene products and support Ukrainian refugees.
Brand new hygiene products for the less fortunate
Allison Academy students made an effort to invest in and collect basic personal care items, such as soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels, deodorant, body lotion, sanitary pads, and everything else required for proper hygiene.
During this time of misfortune for Ukraine, as responsible citizens and members of the community, we are responsible for contributing to the safety of everyone who fled their country in search of safety, and the least we can do is serve the community by collecting toiletries/household items for them.
The students also ran a donation drive by making a plea to the public to join in and help the Toiletry Drive by giving goods. We are lucky enough to have incredible people within our community who make an effort to donate in such volumes.
Creating initiatives is important in building a strong community
Allison Academy has kept the tradition of making moves in the direction of its students being active members of the community and organizing all kinds of fundraising drives and initiatives for those less fortunate. By organizing the Toiletry Drive, the community engagement of our generous students who collected sanitary goods helped many individuals and families from all over Dade and Broward get unopened hygiene products and thus meet their daily needs.
The provision of toiletries is an important service, as there is a great need for them in the community. Additionally, because of the basic need for maintaining personal care and hygiene, Allison Academy students believe that organizing toiletry drives maintains the dignity and respect of all who benefit from the drive.
Every little thing we donate during a drive can help us help someone else and make their hardships easier.
