Allison Academy Annoucement on COVID-19 Plan of Action

SUMMER SCHOOL 2020 – LIMITED ENROLLMENT- RESERVE SPOT TODAY!

Online Classes Update

Hello everyone! We have completed our 8th week of live online classes. Seniors have one more week before they graduate and grades 6-11 have two more weeks of school before the end of the school year. We will all remember this year of the COVID-19 –corona virus as totaling changing our way of attending and ending the school year. I must say that this has been a true test of the strength of our academic program/curriculum, and the adaptability of our students and teachers! In speaking with educators from other schools, I am convinced that we have done the VERY BEST job of transitioning to our online curriculum, and I thank each and every one of YOU!!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

Next week on Tuesday, May19, at 3 p.m., we will have the Senior Awards Ceremony recognizing your school achievement on WebEx , room number 796 418 482.

The Awards Ceremony for grades 9-11 will be on WebEx , room 796 418 482 at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at 3 p.m.

The Middle School will have their Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 27, at 3 p.m. on WebEx, room 796 418 482.

The awards will be recognition of your achievements for the 2019-2020 school year! Your awards/certificates will be sent to you through email or USPS mail. I am looking forward to this event! Please visit WebEx at the appropriate time for your grade to see who is being honored!

Seniors are reviewing their subject content this week and will have their finals next week. Congratulations to the seniors who have straight A’s for a year in a class. They will be exempt from their final exam. The only class requiring an exam for every one is the American Government class.

Grades 6-11 will have their review for finals next week and the exams the week of May 26-28.

I want to encourage all students to take the review packets seriously and learn the information that the teachers give them, as the exam will cover that material. Students should drill themselves and then have someone at home drill them to make certain that they have an understanding of the material.

Any students who are missing assignments must focus on completing the assignments and submitting them to their teachers to keep their average and GPA as high as possible. Email your teachers if you have questions about any missing assignments! The students who need summer school have not yet been determined. I am waiting to see who will meet the challenge of bringing their grades up, so that they do not have to attend from June 15 to July 23, 2020. However, if you would like to come to summer school to advance your academic program, that is also an option.

Have a safe and healthy weekend. It remains quiet and lonely here, but we are having some work done in the building which will be in great condition for summer school and for next year!!

Warm regards to ALL of YOU,

Dr. Allison

Why Allison Academy?

Our mission at Allison Academy is to inspire our diverse community of students. It is our goal to promote moral, intellectual, physical, and academic excellence so that each student may rise to honorable achievements, and contribute to the common good.

Allison Academy evolved from a Reading/Math Learning Center, to an accredited private institution, in response to parents’ demands for a private, nurturing, school environment for their children.

The Academy accepted its first students in 1983, and was organized to provide a highly specialized program for each individual. Over the years, the enrollment has grown, and in 1994, a decision to enlarge the school and increase enrollment was made.

Today, Allison Academy (named by its first students), is a private, accredited, non-sectarian secondary (grades 6 – 12) school located in North Miami Beach, Florida.
