At Allison Academy, we strive to provide our students with a complete education. This means that besides learning in the classroom, students have a lot of opportunities to explore the world and learn in real settings.
Throughout the school year, students participate in field trips designed for educational enrichment and social activities. It is a proven way to blend the knowledge gained in the classroom with real-world experiences. Also, this is a unique opportunity for students to deepen their bond and nurture friendships.
At Allison, we are having fun and learning at the same time while traveling to different places.
Well thought out and carefully planned trips
Traveling provides students with an amazing and unique opportunity to get to know other cultures, learn about history, grasp the world of today, and explore nature. Moreover, it allows them to become aware of the world that surrounds them and show compassion for others.
At Allison, we carefully pick our field and international trips, making sure the students have different opportunities to learn in various surroundings. Regardless of whether they’re visiting zoos, museums, different institutions like courts, workplaces or entertainment parks, the students have a memorable time and experience a variety of things important to their education and upbringing.
We travelled outside the borders of our country and gained first-hand knowledge of other cultures
- England
- France
- Greece
- Italy
Children had learned about various aspects of these countries through a number of lessons in different subjects covering their historical, geographical, social and cultural properties, but actually visiting the countries was a whole new experience for them. They could directly encounter some of the characteristics they had learned about and gain their own insight into different countries. This is why such international trips are quite important for students, as they provide just the right blend of fun and education.
Allison students also went on a number of field trips.
Some of the most memorable ones were:
- Trip to Monkey Jungle
- Snorkeling in the Florida Keys
- Miami Seaquarium
- Metro Zoo
- St. Augustine
- Cape Canaveral
- Everglades National Park
- Duck Tours, Parrot Jungle
- Museum of Science
- Florida History Museum
- MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art)
- Grad Nite at Universal Studios, Disney World
- Islands of Adventure
- Miami-Dade Courts
- Ft. Lauderdale Art Museum.
Taking a field trip is not just a way to enrich and complement learning in the classroom, but also an amazing chance to enable students to see the world as a place where everything is an outstanding opportunity for learning.
Becoming lifelong learners
Visiting different places allows students to not only broaden their knowledge, but also to continue learning in real-life settings once they’ve completed their formal education. In other words: they become lifelong learners and that is the main takeaway we would like them to have from Allison Academy.
