For the best possible university experience
Allison Academy is proud of our reputation with colleges across the country, as well as in foreign countries. Our students are known for their strong academic preparation, distinctive talents, and outstanding citizenship. Throughout the year, college representatives request to visit our campus to meet with students to familiarize them with all aspects of college life. We maintain extensive files of universities and colleges for students to use in their search. However, the internet is our most useful tool.
Resources to facilitate the college search
Allison Academy faculty members serve as advisors for students and parents in their search for the right college or university. Our goal is to help students make a plan for the future which will allow them to meet their educational and career goals. As our teachers get to know our students interests, talents, and potential they are available to help students find what might be the right fit for them.
The teachers serve as a support system for the students and are their strongest advocates and help them through this difficult decision making process. Teachers also participate in writing letters of recommendation, reviewing required essays, and communicating with the college admissions department.
We have developed a wealth of resources and provide services to assist students and parents in their college search. We recommend you schedule an appointment to meet for academic advising or an individual college planning session before or after classes. During this session we will help you with any of the following:
- Research colleges and universities
- Research a degree you are interested in
- Complete applications
- Write personal statements and required essays
- Prepare for standardized testing (SAT or ACT)
- Register for standardized testing
- Apply for financial aid
College entrance test preparation
Students enroll in a college entrance test program to prepare for their tests in their junior or senior high school years. This year we will be using a highly recommended computer program, along with a directed program of study using previously administered exams.
Parent participation in the college search
We welcome parent input and make every effort to keep parents informed though frequent communication via phone calls, emails or by scheduling an appointment for them to come in for a meeting. We are glad to remind you that our mission is to help our students become citizens of the world and the best way to complete it is to give our maximum. That’s exactly what we do – we are looking out for our students’ success.
