Allison Academy continues to foster creativity, not only in terms of self-expression, but also to raise awareness about important societal causes using original art, made by our talented students!
Allison Academy’s art students participated in the city of North Miami Beach’s “Drop Savers Poster Contest” and once again earned recognition for their artwork! Our students swept the podium, earning the top three prizes awarded for their amazing work.
We are extremely proud of our students, our superb art program, and Mrs. Milner’s leadership! This great success confirms the importance of art and creative expression, and the value of our art program at Allison Academy. Furthermore, events like these show students and young leaders that hard work gets recognized and that people are willing to listen and learn about environmental issues, especially if the message is presented in a clear yet inventive way.
The importance of water conservation
The Annual Drop Saver Poster Contest encourages students in grades K – 12 to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea. The contest’s goal is to help educate and remind students about the importance of water conservation. The participants were given the task to create an original poster depicting a water conservation idea, focusing on the importance of the cause and raising awareness about the ways we can preserve clear water, and the ways we can encourage each other to do it.
We feel that our best opportunity to conserve water is through a long-range education and awareness program, and what better way than to begin with our students – who, through this forum, can also express their unique point of view on this important social cause.
A winner from each division was selected by the judges based on creativity, the execution of conservation messages, and originality. We are very happy that our students made such exceptional pieces of art that send a clear message about the importance of water conservation.
Pride in Allison Academy’s art class
We would like everyone to congratulate our three winners!
The talented students who won awards at the contest are Raffaella Kishner, who won the first prize, Catherine Reyes, who placed second, and Josephine Golubov, who placed third. These three students are in their senior year at Allison Academy, and they will soon continue their success at universities across the country.
These students will attend a reception acknowledging their participation in the contest, with a special recognition ceremony for all of the participating students, parents, and teachers.
Congratulations to all students who participated and won!
