It is of the utmost importance that sacrifices are remembered and honored in a way that follows tradition.
Veteran’s Day was this Thursday, November 11th. We followed our tradition to attend the North Miami Beach Veterans Day ceremony honoring all who have served our country and those who continue to preserve our freedom.
Allison Academy holds an important place for all those who served the military and protected our nation. Veterans Day unites the country in order to remember those who have given their lives for the higher cause, and to celebrate the heroism of those who are a shining example of national pride and selfless service for the sake of preserving freedom.
Remembrance and reverence
Our students paid their tributes and showed respect by dressing down in red, white, and blue and the colors of the American flag, stars and stripes could be seen flapping gracefully in the wind. The atmosphere at the ceremony venue was filled with deep remembrance and mindfulness in order to celebrate the heroism of our military veterans who spoke at the meeting and those who are no longer with us.
The spokespeople highlighted the fact that the price of freedom is high and that every sacrifice for the sake of national dignity cannot ever be fully repaid.
We are extremely proud at Allison Academy are more than proud to say that our students have shown that they harbor an incredible sense of healthy national pride, honoring the service of veterans who bravely answered the call to defend our country’s liberty.
Teaching students about Veterans Day: an important part of national identity
Veterans Day at Allison Academy is always an excellent occasion for the school to engage our students and local community in producing a meaningful tribute to veterans.
As it is a federal holiday, most public institutions are closed that day, but at our school we consider this holiday to be a time when attending the ceremony is a way to show your appreciation and respect for those who contributed to creating a sense of national pride in our people.
Every year Allison Academy holds a mandatory duty to remember our troops by holding a memorial service which is attended by our students and community members. By providing a proper program which includes traditional elements such as speeches from veterans and guest presenters, celebrating the national anthem and the flag-raising ceremony, our school intends to commemorate both the living and the deceased who played an important part in creating the national identity of the United States of America.
